Hi, this is Jeff. I study people, machines, and the complicated feelings in between. I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Communication at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, part of the combined master's-doctoral program, and a member of the Center for Future Media & Human-Machine Communication, advised by Prof. Yi Mou.

My work sits at the intersection of human-AI communication and platform studies. Specifically, I'm interested in how people form intimacy with AI systems, how these relationships persist or shift as the underlying technology evolves, and how emerging media reshape practices around mourning, memory and digital immortality. I also study the governance and political economy of AI platforms, drawing on qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods approaches.

I currently serve as Assistant Editor for Big Data & Society, and Student Committee Chair for the Association for Chinese Communication Studies. Before joining SJTU I completed my B.A. in Journalism at Chongqing University.

你好，我是Jeff。我研究人与机器，以及二者间产生的复杂情感。我是上海交通大学传播学专业的博士研究生，硕博连读项目在读，同时是未来媒体与人机传播研究中心的研究助理，师从牟怡教授。

我的研究处于人机传播与平台研究的交叉领域。具体而言，我关注人们如何与人工智能系统建立亲密关系，这种关系如何随着技术演变而延续或改变，以及新兴媒介如何重塑哀悼、记忆与数字生命观念相关的实践。我也关注人工智能平台的治理与政治经济学问题，研究方法涵盖质性、量化与混合方法。

我目前担任《大数据与社会》助理编辑，以及中华传播学会学生委员会主席。在加入交大之前，我在重庆大学新闻学院获得了新闻学学士学位。
